Pepelu: "It has been a good preseason, it has helped us to pick up the concepts we wanted"

Pepelu made his unofficial debut at Mestalla in the Trofeo Naranja against Aston Villa, and contributed to the consolation goal when his corner was turned in by an opposition defender. He spoke to VCF Media following the final whistle.

We carried out everything that we have worked on during preseason today. The game strengthens us for what is to come, despite us not having achieved victory.

The season opener against Sevilla FC

We know that the first game will be difficult. Sevilla FC are tough opponents at home. We must keep going with our concepts, with clear ideas and aim to get a good result there.

Debuting at Mestalla
The truth is that I was really keen to debut in front of the fans. The fans at this ground always give everything. It is a pleasure to have debuted at Mestalla -despite the result.
